Jay Jones is the Attorney General-Elect for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

About Jay

Jay is a former Assistant Attorney General, member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and an accomplished litigator. The descendant of slaves, Jay’s family has been in Norfolk since the early 20th century, where he and his wife Mavis now live with their two sons. Jay completed his undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary, and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia. He is the first African-American Attorney General in Virginia’s history.
